Native to eastern and central United States. Ripe fruits are eaten fresh or made into preserves, jellies and pies. Dried fruit is mixed with almond meal to make a confectionery. The young shoots and unfolded leaves are eaten raw or boiled.‣Red Mulberry (Morus rubra)
