A small tree (5 - 14 m) although sometimes as low as 2 m on adverse sites. It occurs on granitic sands, clay sands, gravelly loams and lateritic clays. Rainfalls are typically 300 - 500 mm although they can be as low as 175 mm.
Uses: windbreak tree in conjunction with other species.
